Nkana captain, Mbombo arrested for malicious damage

Nkana striker Idris Mbombo, team captain Harrison Chisala, and defender Clement Mwape have been arrested for alleged malicious damage to government property.

Tnmanahe three are alleged to have broken the locking system of the referee’s dressing room at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Mbombo, Chisala, and Mwape are in police custody awaiting their court appearance.

They were reported to police by Charles Chisenga, an employee at Cabinet Office attached to the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, for allegedly damaging the locking system on Sunday after the Kitwe Derby against Power Dynamos.

“On Monday, 21.04.25, at 13:40 hours, the district, through Twapia Police Station, received a report from Charles Chisenga, aged 39, an employee from Cabinet Office in Ndola, attached to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium as an Acting Executive Member, who reported on behalf of the Zambian Government,” Copperbelt Province Police Commanding Officer Pathias Siandenge confirmed.

He said the trio was reported by Chisenga.

“The report stated that the door to the referee’s room and the locking system, valued at K5,000, were maliciously damaged by Nkana FC players, namely Idris Mbombo, aged 29, Clement Mwape Mulashi, and Harrison Chisala, aged 27.

“Be informed that today, April 23 at 11:54 hours, the trio has been charged and arrested for the offence of malicious damage to government property and are currently detained in police custody pending court appearance,” he said.
