Niger boss full of respect for Copper Bullets

Niger national team will tomorrow Thursday host Zambia in an international friendly match at the Stade general Seyin Kaunlche in Niamey.

Niger head coach Cheik Omase Diabate is anticipating a tough match when the two teams meet.

“We anticipate a tough game against Zambia knowing very well that its a powerhouse of football,” he said.

Both Zambia and Niger are using this friendly to prepare for the 2021 Africa Cup qualifiers starting November this year.

“The team is ready for the game though the result of the game will not matter very much to us, beating Zambia will be a good thing but u have to understand that our players are not very experienced. Yes we have a few experienced players but we didn’t have enough time to train together,” he said.

“Football is a game and these friendly games are there to help us assess how the players are doing. We are grateful to zambia for coming and we respect their national team so much and We are looking forward to the game,” he added.

Zambia and Niger last met during the 2015 Afcon qualifiers in which Zambia won at Levy Mwanawasa stadium 3-0.
