The FAZ National Division One returned to action this weekend after a break over the festive season.
Things have picked up from where they left off as only Kafue Eagles lost in the top six with Trident making it three wins in a row.
Log leaders Trident have moved to 35 points following a 5-0 thrashing of Lusaka Dynamos.
The loss was Lusaka Dynamos’ eleventh of the season and only Kafue Celtic 10 is the other team to have lost games in double digits.
Trident on the other hand opened a two point lead at the summit.
Second placed Mufulira Wanderers were held to a 1-1 draw by Kitwe United.
In Lusaka, Atletico Lusaka suffered a ninth loss of the company.
Goals from Marcel Zimba and Kings Mutandwa were not enough as Mathias Lungu (brace) and Dabwiso Njobvu gave ZESCO Malaiti Rangers a well deserved 3-2 win at the Toyota Sports Arena.
BARTS FC suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of City of Lusaka thanks to a Charles Katongo goal.
Kafue Celtic have moved out of the relegation zone following a 1-0 win over Young Buffaloes thanks to a first half strike by Albert Sampa.
Francis Mubanga scored a brace to give Konkola Blades a 2-0 win over Kafue Eagles and move the Chililabombwe based side into 3rd place.
