Nchanga Rangers sign Congolese striker Tranquilin Kalonji Mwepu

Nchanga Rangers have strengthened their attacking options ahead of the new MTN Super League season after completing the signing of Congolese striker Tranquilin Kalonji Mwepu on a one-and-a-half-year contract.

The forward joins the Chingola-based club as a free agent, becoming the latest addition to head coach George Lwandamina’s squad as Rangers continue to reinforce their squad for the 2026 Transitional League campaign.

Mwepu arrives after a productive two-year spell at Kansanshi Dynamos, where he finished as the club’s leading scorer in both seasons. His consistent goalscoring form and experience in Zambian football made him one of the standout attacking performers at the Solwezi-based side.

Rangers believe the Congolese striker’s movement, finishing ability and physical presence will provide a significant boost to their frontline as they look to challenge strongly in the upcoming campaign.

Club president Eng. David Mukumbuta Mukelabai welcomed the signing, expressing confidence that Mwepu has the qualities needed to make an immediate impact.

“We are delighted to welcome Tranquilin Kalonji Mwepu to the Rangers Family. We believe he will add quality and strength to our squad, and we wish him every success as he embarks on this new chapter in Bravo colours,” Mukelabai said.

Mwepu becomes the latest arrival in an increasingly active transfer window for Nchanga Rangers, with the club continuing to reshape its squad under Lwandamina ahead of the new season.

The Rangers executive committee has expressed satisfaction with the club’s recruitment so far and is optimistic the new additions will help the team compete strongly during the 2026 Transitional League.
