National Women’s team lose to drop out of Olympic race

The Zambia national women’s team on Sunday afternoon lost 1 – 0 to Zimbabwe in the Rio Olympics qualifiers to drop out of the race on away goals after the two teams were tied 2 – 2 on aggregate.

Zambia conceded the only goal on the day in the first but could have come back in the second half when they were awarded a penalty which they failed to convert.

Zambia beat Zimbabwe 2 – 1 in the first leg at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
