Napsa Stars turn to Sipho Mumbi as Perry Mutapa’s replacement

Napsa Stars are on the verge of appointing Sipho Mumbi as their new head coach, the ZamFoot Crew understands.

The follows the departure of Perry Mutapa on Wednesday with 2 months left on his contract having joined the club in August 2021.

Sipho, a former Zambia U23 international was part of the Perry Mutapa led backroom but left last season to join Ian Bakala at Nkana.

Bakala and Sipho steered Kalampa to safety after relegation concerns.

While the ZamFoot Crew revealed that Napsa officials had met veteran coach Beston Chambeshi, it has now emerged that Sipho is now a frontrunner for the job.

This will be Sipho’s third stint at the club having initially featured for them as a player between 2012 and 2014.

After he hang up his boots, he was promoted as coach of Young Napsa Stars.

Following the hiring of Perry Mutapa, Sipho was drafted in as one of the assistant whilst the team was in the National First Division
