Zambian referee Nancy Kasitu has been appointed assistant referee for Saturday’s U17 AFCON final between Mali and hosts Morocco set for the El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia.
Kasitu adds to the growing number of Zambian match officials breaking new grounds in international competitions.
She will be in the company of Namibian Antsino Twanyanyukwa who will be centre referee with Salim Alao as first assistant while the fourth official designation falls on Brighton Chimene from Zimbabwe.
With the Zambia U17 Men’s National team bowing out at the quarterfinal stage, Kasitu has flown the national flag to the final.
For the U20 AFCON Zambia will be represented by Hillary Hambaba and Diana Chikotesha while the retired Janny Sikazwe has been appointed as an instructor.
The Zambia U20 men’s national team will be among the among the 13 qualified teams at the tournament which kicks off on April 27.
