Green Eagles coach Alex Namazaba will this afternoon start the first of his three deciding matches concerning his future as the boss at the Choma based outfit.
Namazaba was handed a three match ultimatum to turn things around following a disappointing 4-0 loss to FC MUZA.
His ultimatum starts this afternoon with a tricky encounter at home against 2022 ABSA Cup winners Forest Rangers.
Namazaba will need to call on his dependable players like Spencer Sautu, Amity Shamende and Hosea Silwimba to dig him out of this deep hole.
Eagles are 16th on the MTN Super League log table with just one win from six games and five points accumulated so far.
With such a slow start is no surprise the Zambia National Service Commander Lt. Gen Malichi Solochi is not happy.
According to the TIMES OF ZAMBIA, Wednesday, 4th October, 2023 quoting ZNS Commander Lt. Gen Malichi Solochi, the 4-0 loss to FC MUZA left him embarrassed.
“And imagine MUZA beats us 4-0. MUZA how? How can we save such a situation?
“Green Eagles is a team which is formidable, a historical team, and a team that has been there for a long time suffering a 4-0 defeat to MUZA. I think it is very embarrassing and discouraging,” a visibly annoyed Solochi said.
Fole Malembe on the other hand are 10th on the log with eight points from five games.
For Namazaba the positive is that Eagles are unbeaten against Forest Rangers in their last six meetings.
The last time Fole Malembe beat the Choma based outfit was back in 2021, 1-0 thanks to a Quadri Kola first half strike.
Namazaba has been in charge of Green Eagles for 34 games since his appointment late last year and has managed 13 wins, nine draws and 12 losses.
After Forest Rangers, Namazaba and his troops face Green Buffaloes before hosting newcomers Trident FC in his final match of the ultimatum.
