The Zambia women’s national team goal-minder Hazel Nali is optimistic and confident that the team will carry the day in tomorrow’s 2020 Tokyo Olympic women’s 1st leg qualifier against Zimbabwe scheduled for Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
Nali is happy with the preparations the team has put in place so far.
“So far so good I think everything is in place we just looking forward to tomorrow’s victory,” she said.
The Green Buffaloes goalkeeper believes the inclusion of European based stars Rachel Kundananji and Misozi Zulu who are plying their trade in Kazakhstan has given confidence to the team.
“I think the morale has gone up because it has given us the confidence to see our foreign-based players of which they have brought in so much impact on the team,” she said.
Hazel Nali further said that the team has met Zimbabwe a lot of times and it is a well-known battle as the Zambezi derby is almost always an assured affair.
“I think we have known each other now as playing Zimbabwe is always a game well-known to say we playing Zimbabwe if not Zimbabwe I don’t know any other team but I think there is nothing to fear, we know them, they know us and then the only thing we need to do tomorrow is to deliver for a win,” she said.
The Zambia women’s National team have to win tomorrow in order to increase their chances of qualifying to the next round as the winner of the two-legged ties will face either South Africa or Botswana. The captain has high hopes of winning at home tomorrow.
“I think for us to go and play at their home ground we need first to win at home and everything will come afterwards but I believe and I know that we are going to carry the day tomorrow,” She told the Zamfoot crew.
