Nakambala Leopards have been fined K5,000 by the Football Association of Zambia after they failed to show up on at the Stadium on Sunday, 2nd August to face Sensational Zanaco in a week 26 MTN/FAZ Super League encounter.
According to a letter by FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala addressed to the Mazabuka based outfit and made available to the ZamFoot Crew, Nakambala violated Article 110 (1 & 2) of the FAZ Disciplinary Code as they failed to show up at the venue of the match after 30 minutes.
In Addition, the club has forfeited the match and FAZ has awarded Chris Kaunda’s Bankers 3 points and 3 goals taking them to 45 points and giving them a real shot of qualifying for Continental football.
“Your club forfeits the match as provided for in Article 77 of the FAZ Disciplinary Code. Zanaco Football Club has been awarded three (3) points with a 3-0 scoreline.” reads part of the statement.
You have been fined K5,000.00 and this amount should be paid within seven (7) days of delivery of this ruling.
Nakambala Leopards have decided not to play the remainder of the 2019/2020 Super League season owing to health concerns by the sponsors Zambia Sugar who are afraid that if a player tests positive it may force the company to close and thereby affecting the economy of the entire Mazabuka town.
Nakambala’s last match of the season which will end prematurely tomorrow is away to Nkana at Nkana Stadium.
