Enock Mwepu could be out for the remainder of the Brighton and Hove Albion season in the English Premier League.
This follows Mwepu’s latest injury problems after sustaining a groin injury last weekend in the 3-0 win over Wolves at Molineux Stadium.
Graham Potter confirmed that Enock Mwepu and Jeremy Sarmiento will miss Saturday’s game against United, with the head coach revealing that Mwepu is unlikely to play again this season.
“Enock [Mwepu] will miss United, a slight injury in his groin which probably means that will be him for the rest of the season,” Potter said.
Should he stay out all season he will miss a trip to Elland Road to face off with his former boss Jesse Marsch and a home clash with David Moyes’ West Ham.
The Copper Bullets skipper limped off a minute after the hour mark at Molineux Stadium as Brighton and Hove Albion cruised to a 3-0 win over Wolves.
Zambia national team boss Aljosa Asanovic will however hope for a quick recovery with the Ivory Coast 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers set to start this month end.
The 2012 African Champions will start their campaign with an away fixture against the 2015 Champions, Ivory Coast on May 30th.
