Mwepu is going to be a top player says Graham Potter

Brighton Hove & Albion manager Graham Potter believes Zambia midfielder Enock Mwepu is headed for the top.

The 23-year-old midfielder gave a masterclass performance on Saturday to help Brighton to a 2-1 win over Arsenal.

The Chipolopolo captain assisted and scored a stunning goal to propel Brighton to victory.

“So you can see how important he is to us. And it gives us a little extra dimension in terms of attacking the box from midfield,” Potter said in a post match reaction

“He has to be patient and we’ve had to be patient and he’s a young player.

“There’s a huge potential and delighted for him that he’s able to get the game time and show what he can do because there’s no doubt he’s gonna be a top player,” Potter continued to lavish praise on his midfielder.

While he has impressed whenever he has been on the pitch, Mwepu’s season has been derailed with niggling injuries.

“We haven’t been able to select him as much as we’d like and as much as he’d like but sometimes you have that when you’re adapting to the Premier League.

“It’s the step at a time that you have to settle in and get used to the level and learn about each other. So hopefully he can finish the season strong because he brings like you said another dimension to us.”
