Former Chipolopolo first choice goalkeeper Cyril Mwenya chibwe has finally left ZESCO United following a mutual separation.
The former Platinum Stars goalkeeper took to social media to confirm his departure from the nine time MTN Super League Champions.
Chibwe has described his experience in the four months since joining the club for his second stint as something he āwould not want any player to go throughā.
āI wish to inform everyone that I have mutually separated with ZESCO United. Since arriving in August, it has been a challenging period for me personally, and it’s an experience I would not want any player to go through.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who has checked on me, supported me, and stood by me during this time. To my loyal fans and supporters, your love keeps me going, and I am truly grateful.ā
The former Polokwane City goalkeeper says he is excited for what is ahead of him and that he wants to focus on this new chapter in his life.
āAs I move forward, I am excited to focus on a new chapter in my career and continue the work of the Chibwe Foundation ā āChange for Youth.ā Empowering and uplifting young people remains at the heart of my journey.ā
Chibwe rejoined ZESCO United in August, a year after leaving the club and penned a two year deal. He however found himself in a weird situation where he even failed to make a single appearance for the club.
Prior to rejoining ZESCO United, Chibwe was with Black Leopards last season and helped them finish fourth, narrowly missing out on a promotion play-off spot by just a single point.
The 32-year-old who previously played for the likes of Platinum Stars, Jomo Cosmos and Polokwane City, kept 9 clean sheets in 18 league games last season.

Zesco united is a sham of a club. Crueless to what they want.
