Mweene back in full training as Chipolopolo win another practice match

Chipolopolo number one Kennedy Mweene has recovered from the groin injury he sustained in the friendly match against South Africa.

Mweene is now back in full training and was yesterday in goal when Zambia played a South African side Witbank Spurs.

The Chipolopolo ran to victory with a 2 – 0 win with goals from Emmanuel Mayuka and Jackson Mwanza.

Rodrick Kabwe who was also down with malaria has also fully recovered and is back in training.

The Honour Janza coached side is expected to leave their training base in Johannesburg tomorrow for their final destination in Equatorial Guinea where they will participate in the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament which kicks off on Saturday.

  1. But according to the Post Sports page, Coach Honour Janza is worried about the fitness of Patrick Ngoma. The boy is still struggling to gain fitness.

  2. How does the team depart just lije that without bidding farewell to the country. Travel arrangements are pathetic, the team will spend a night in Addis Ababa, fly to Malabo, then to another town before driving to their base. FAZ and Kambwili should have chartered a plane . All the bext though.

  3. I was amused to see how South African soccer fans were mocking Kennedy Mweene’s official age of 30 years after the Zambia vs South Africa match on the kickoff website. It is interesting that all of them agreed that he is much older than that age.
