MUWOWO BAGS BIG, KAMBOLE AWARDED AT THE 2019 AWARD GALA

The FAZ/MTN Award gala which was held on Saturday evening saw Austin Muwowo walk away with the main award of the night, Muwowo was named the best player of year.

 

Muwowo had a season to remember with Forest Rangers and finished joint top scorer with former teammate Zikiru Adams and Napsa Stars striker Laudit Mavugo. “I feel excited right now I don’t know how I can express myself, its really a great honor to get this, really I want to thank God, my teammates at Forest Rangers I want to say thank you.” Muwowo said.

Muwowo scored 10 goal for Forest Ranger coupling it with 8 assists.

“I dreamed about winning it, it’s a dream a come true. I want to thank the coaches (at Forest Rangers) for the support and for all the encouragement that came from them and the pushing to work hard.” He concluded.

 

Russia based midfielder Klings Kangwa fend off competition from Arsenal Tula compatriot Lameck Banda and former Circuit City player Biston Banda to be crowned young player of the year.

 

Biston Banda’s 8 league goals were not enough for him to beat Kangwa who played a key role to ensure that Buildcon qualify to their maiden CAF Confederation Cup. The young midfielder marked his Buildcon debut with a goal at Levy Mwanawasa stadium and went all the way putting up great performance.

 

While former Zesco United striker Lazarus Kambole walked home with two awards. The Kaizer Chiefs player won the the most disciplined player award as well as the fans footballer of the year award.

 

Green Eagles tremendous rising to the helm of both Zambian and African football has not gone unnoticed, this is a best story everyone would tell to the next generation, the team which was fighting relegation three seasons ago is now one of the best team.

 

The man behind that success story is no other than Aggrey Chiyangi, the gaffer has changed the face of Eagles and is now on the verge of making history after narrowly beating Orlando Pirates 1-nil at Nkoloma stadium. Chiyangi efforts have been awarded as he scoped the coach of the award.

 

FIFA referee Audrick Nkole won the referee of the year award while Diana Chikotesha won the assistant referee of the year award.
