Mutapa happy with win over Zanaco

Power dynamos head coach Perry Mutapa described his teams 3-0 win over Sensational Zanaco on Wednesday afternoon at the National Heroes Stadium as a sweet victory.

The Power dynamos tactician expressed happiness with the result in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew shortly after the match.

“The Sweet victory is good for Power Dynamos who be laying in the relegation zone for some time and as a big club this victory acts as a breather and we have to soldier on and maintain the recent form we have gained,” he said.

Perry Mutapa was named as Head Coach for Power Dynamos alongside his able assistant Masautso Tembo in late November and the pair have won 2 games in-charge but Mutapa doesn’t feel the team is revived yet and believes they need to train harder.

“With today’s scoreline I don’t think we are revived, we should have kept the ball well and we failed to manage the game very well. On a positive side, the training infrastructure at Power Dynamos is good and we just have to train hard with the boys,” he said.

Mutapa also hailed Zanaco’s fitness levels having played 2 games in the last week with an encounter in the CAF Confederation Cup three days before facing Abayellow.

“We Knew Zanaco had high fitness levels than us having played more games in the course of the week, we told our players to play simple and keep the ball more with the caliber of players we have in Larry Bwalya, Benson Sakala and Lameck Kafwaya who are lethal with possession. Building from the back helped us as Zanaco came close trying to break play close to our own half hence leaving gaps behind in which we capitalized and scored our goals.”

Midfielder genius Larry Bwalya scored a brace with Fred Mulambia netting another goal to guide Power dynamos to a comfortable 3-0 win and move then to eighth place on the log.
