Zambian striker Kingstone Mutandwa continued his impressive run of form by scoring a late winner as Servette FC edged Vaduz 2-1 in the Swiss league at the Stade de Genève.
Mutandwa proved decisive once again, finding the net late in the match to secure three points for Jocelyn Gourvennec’s side after a hard-fought encounter against a determined Vaduz team.
Servette made a bright start, taking the lead in the 15th minute through Thomas Lopes, who produced a stunning strike into the top corner to send the home supporters into celebration.
Vaduz responded with determination and managed to fight their way back into the contest, forcing the hosts to work hard for the victory.
With the match finely poised, Mutandwa stepped up to deliver the decisive moment, extending Servette’s winning run and underlining his growing importance to the team.
The Zambian forward has now scored in six consecutive matches, taking his tally to seven goals across his last six appearances — five in the league and two in cup competitions.
His latest contribution comes as Servette build momentum following their victory over Sion and progression in the Swiss Cup, giving the Geneva-based side further encouragement for the remainder of the campaign.
For Mutandwa, the goal further strengthens his reputation as one of Zambia’s in-form forwards, with his consistency in front of goal providing a major boost for both club and country.
