Mutandwa signs contract extension at Cagliari Calcio

Zambian striker Kingstone Mutandwa has signed a contract extension at Italian Serie A side Cagliari Calcio.

Mutandwa has signed a one year contract extension. He signed an initial four year deal with Cagliari last year.

The club confirmed the development on their official website.

“Cagliari Calcio is pleased to announce the contract extension of the footballer Kingstone Mutandwa, who has signed a new agreement with the Club until 30 June 2028.

Born in Chibombo (Zambia) on January 5, 2003, in Zambia, Kingstone grew up as a footballer in the youth teams of Lusaka Athletic. Between 2021 and 2023 he attracted attention thanks to his goals, 34 in two seasons.

Arriving in Sardinia in the summer of 2023, he made his debut with the Primavera on September 2, 2023, in the home draw against Inter (1-1), immediately entering the orbit of the first team. Constant work and growth led him to his Serie A debut on March 3, in the 1-0 victory at Empoli. The evening of May 23 was memorable: in Cagliari-Fiorentina he scored his first goal in the top flight with a splendid shot from outside the area. Among the offensive arrows of the rossoblù, he has made two appearances so far this season.”

Mutandwa was part of Zambia’s squad in the recent international window. He made his competitive debut against Tanzania as a substitute.

Mutandwa has also been capped at Under-20 level. He was part of the Zambia squad at the previous CAF U20 African Cup of Nations.
