Musonda scores in Yanga win over Sudanese giants

Zambian striker Kennedy Musonda came off the bench to score the first goal to help Young Africans to a 2-0 win over Sudanese giants Al Merrikh in a CAF Champions League match.

The first leg was played in Kigali because of war in Sudan.

Yanga will host Al Merrikh in the second leg at Dar’s Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Elsewhere in the CAF Champions League, Simba came from behind twice to salvage a 2-2 away draw against Power Dynamos in Ndola.

Clatous Chama scored a brace for the Tanzanian giants while Joshua Mutale and Cephas Mulombwa scored for Power Dynamos.

In the CAF Confederations Cup, Gamphani Lungu helped Supersport United to 1-1 against Gaborone United.

Rally Bwalya entered the fray in the second half in Sekhukhune’s 3-1 over DR Congo’s Lupopo.
