Muntanga talks about his big blunder and qualities of a good goalkeeper

Nkwazi goalkeeper Charles Muntanga is one of the best goal minders in the MTN/FAZ Super League and has had stints with both the U-23 and senior national team.

Muntanga has been on the rise in the recent past and continues to impress with his breathtaking saves and match-winning performances.

But Football is a sport full of errors and the 24-year-old is not immune to them. Muntanga told the ZamFoot Crew in an exclusive interview that his error against Nkana in the 2-2 draw at Edwin Imboela during the transitional league was his worst mistake.

Muntanga believes the mistake let the team down and contributed to them missing out on Continental football.

I remember vividly we played Nkana at Imboela when we where leading 2-1 and I conceded a silly goal when a win would have made my team play continental football

When asked about what makes a good goalkeeper Muntanga said good positioning and communication.

“I think as a good goalkeeper you need to have good communication and very good positioning in goal,” he said.

Muntanga had his best in 2018 when he was crowned as the player of the year at the Police Sports Gala held at Government Complex on January 18, 2019.

Muntanga was also promoted to the rank of Sergeant following a fantastic season for the Zambia sponsored outfit.
