ZANACO FC head coach Numba Mumamba has praised his side’s improved attitude and clinical finishing after the Bankers secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Kansanshi Dynamos in the Transitional League at Sunset Stadium on Saturday.
Kiala Wa Kiala opened the scoring in the 34th minute before Araina struck twice, in the 40th and 58th minutes, to seal a comfortable victory for Zanaco.
The result provided a timely boost for the Bankers, who had collected just one point from their previous two home matches.
Mumamba was pleased with his side’s ability to convert their chances while controlling much of the contest, saying the victory would provide valuable motivation ahead of their next assignment.
“Today we managed to convert the chances that came our way, and we played better. We controlled most of the game, which is good for us, especially that we are coming from two games at home where we only managed to pick a point,” he said.
“Getting three points today is something that will motivate us as we go into the next game.”
The Zanaco coach attributed the improved performance to the collective effort, determination and positive attitude displayed by his players, urging them to maintain those standards as the campaign progresses.
“I think it is the attitude that we showed because today we worked for each other and showed determination, which is what made the difference,” Mumamba said.
“If we can keep working the way we have worked and improve on what we have done today, I think we will perform better this season.”
The victory lifts Zanaco to third place in Stream A with seven points from four matches, keeping them within reach of the leading sides as they seek to strengthen their position in the race for a place in the final.
Mumamba will now turn his attention to an away encounter against Trident FC, who head into the fixture in confident mood after thrashing Makeni All Stars 6-1.
The Bankers will be looking to build on their convincing display against Kansanshi as they seek to maintain their upward momentum against a Trident side buoyed by an emphatic victory of their own.
