Power Dynamos goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga is attracting significant transfer interest ahead of the June transfer window, with several clubs monitoring his situation as his contract nears expiry.
According to Zambian transfer expert Wami Katanga, Tanzanian giants Simba SC are among the clubs that have already held discussions with the player’s representatives over a potential move. Other clubs in the Tanzanian Ligi Kuu are also understood to be keen on securing the highly-rated shot-stopper on a free transfer.
Closer to home, ZESCO United are preparing to revive their long-standing interest in Mulenga as they look to strengthen their goalkeeping department ahead of next season.
Despite the growing interest, Power Dynamos remain determined to retain the goalkeeper and are still pushing to reach an agreement over a new contract. However, negotiations are yet to produce a breakthrough, leaving Mulenga set to become a free agent in June unless fresh terms are agreed.
The goalkeeper is now expected to decide on his future in the coming weeks amid increasing interest from both domestic and regional clubs.
ZESCO United’s admiration for Mulenga is not new. In June last year, the ZamFoot Crew reported that the Ndola giants were considering a move for the goalkeeper as a replacement for Toaster Nsabata following his return to South African side Sekhukhune United.
