Mujembe appointed as Blades Co-Assistant

Newly promoted side Konkola Blades is delighted to announce the appointment of Lewington Mujembe to the technical bench.

In a bid to ensure that Konkola Blades FC competes favorably in the MTN/FAZ Super League, the club has reinforced the technical bench by appointing Lewington Mujembe as Co-assistant Coach.

Club Secretary, Kebby Shampongo said Mujembe’s face is not new to the club, so as to the Chililabombwe community.

“He has coached Konkola Blades before as head coach, the position he rose to through ranks and he also played for the club together with the current head coach,” he said.

The secretary added that Mujembe understands the huge importance of development at the club and believes his experience can help to further the progress of the team, and management is of no doubt that the concerted efforts of the technical bench will make the club thrive in the Premier League.

“It’s a big opportunity and at the same time it’s a challenge that I relish,” Mujembe proclaimed. “Our target will remain unchanged by making sure that the club is sustained in the top league and all we ask is for the undivided support from all well-meaning supporters of Konkola Blades,” he said.

To this effect, Enos Silwimba remains as Head Coach, to be deputised by John Mukonje and Lewington Mujembe.

Godfrey Siame and Chipulu Chileya will focus on the mid-field and striking forces respectively, as Steven Kabwe continues overseeing the goal keeping department.

All other positions have remained unchanged and it is to the desire of the club management that the team competes well this season to the satisfaction of the community, the sponsor and the nation at large.
