Mufulira Wanderers have strengthened their squad ahead of the new season with the signing of defender Christopher Tiki from Lumwana Radiants on a two-and-a-half-year permanent deal.
The 26-year-old arrives at Shinde Stadium after an impressive four-year spell with Lumwana Radiants, where he established himself as one of the league’s most reliable full-backs thanks to his attacking threat and defensive consistency.
Across his time at the club, Tiki contributed six goals and 23 assists in all competitions, underlining his effectiveness at both ends of the pitch. He enjoyed arguably his finest campaign last season, registering two goals and eight assists as he played a key role for the North-Western Province outfit.
Known for his pace, quality deliveries from wide areas and relentless work rate, Tiki is expected to add competition and experience to Wanderers’ defensive unit as the club looks to strengthen its ambitions for the upcoming campaign.
Before making his name at Lumwana Radiants, the defender featured for Livingstone Pirates, where he began his rise in Zambian football.
Speaking after completing the move, Tiki described the transfer as a significant milestone in his career.
“I am honoured and excited to join Mufulira Wanderers Football Club, one of the biggest and most historic clubs in Zambia and Africa. I look forward to giving my all for the jersey, the technical bench and our passionate supporters,” he said.
Mufulira Wanderers Chief Executive Officer Evans Chiyanta believes the defender’s arrival will provide a major boost to the squad.
“Christopher is a proven performer in the league. His consistency and attacking contribution from full-back will boost our depth and align with our ambitions this season,” Chiyanta said.
Tiki becomes the latest addition to Wanderers’ squad as the nine-time Zambian champions continue to reinforce their team ahead of the new campaign, with the club hoping his experience and attacking quality from defence will play an important role in their pursuit of success.
