Mufulira Wanderers coach suspended for ignoring advise on team composition

Mufulira Wanderers coach Justin Chinama has been given an indefinite suspension by the Executive for ‘ignoring advise on team composition’.

According to a letter accessed by the ZamFoot Crew by CEO Iden. W. K. Zulu and addressed to Chinama he has been suspended for repeatedly ignoring the CEOs advise on team composition (Insubordination) and poor results.

Mufulira Wanderers have just managed to pick up two points in their last four games losing back to back games in the last two matches.

Here is the full letter.

This letter served to inform you that you have been suspended effective 4th March 2019 until further notice for Unsatisfactory work performance and insubordination.

The team’s performance in the last four games as below acceptable levels and lacks direction. Further you have repeatedly ignored my advise on team composition. The team that was used in the game against Nakambala was not the lineup that was agreed upon at the discussion I had with you. This amounts to insubordination.

Accordingly, you are hereby formally charged for unsatisfactory work performance and insubordination. You are free to exculpate yourself in four days from the fate of of the letter.

Please note that you will not be paid for the days that you will remain on suspension .

We thank you for the services rendered to the club.

  1. This is nonsensical. Iden Zulu should be fired. The chap even goes as far as putting it in the suspension letter as insubordination although the coach was doing what he is paid for. If he is a good CEO, Zulu must know that he has no right to pick the team or tell the coach which players to use. Under such mediocre management, Mighty are definite relegation candidates.

And citing poor performance just doesn’t hold water because from 5 games, Wanderers have only lost twice.

I fear for Allan Kamwanga because this fellow Zulu will be interfering in team selection.

  2. This decision is laughable and stone age type of management to say the least. You suspend a coach indefinately for doing his job?It is the management that should be fired and not the other way round.!With this type of management the once might Mufulira Wanderers is going back to division one unless they have a management team that is abreast with the modern standards of running soccer.

  3. May I ADVISE that the word to use in the should be
ADVICE instead of ADVISE. You can ADVISE someone
but it’s up to that person to accept or reject the
    ADVICE.
In this case the coach ignored ADVICE given to him.
In my humble opinion, Chinama was not being advised.
He being ORDERED to obey the so called advice.
    Sad.
