MTN Super League: ZESCO United thrash Mutondo, Arrows pierce Mines…Wins for FC MUZA, and ZANACO 

ZESCO United bounced back from their set back of losing points through the boardroom to Konkola Blades by thrashing Mutondo Stars 3-0. 

Saddam Yusuf Phiri netted a hat-trick to lead the Airmen to a 4-1 win over Mines United while FC MUZA beat Konkola Blades 2-0 away in Chililabombwe. 

Nkana and ZANACO edged Nkwazi and Kansanshi Dynamos 1-0 respectively as week two of the MTN Super League came around with a bang. 

At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, ZESCO United, Abraham Siankombo roared, putting the 9 time Champions in the lead in the 23rd minute. 

Siankombo then doubled the lead in the 55th minute before David Simukonda could seal the win with a beautiful lob over the keeper. 

At Nkoloma Stadium, Saddam Yusuf Phiri scored the first hat-trick of the season as Red Arrows beat Mines United 4-1. 

Phiri headed in his first two goals before completing his treble from 12 yards. Akakulubwelwa Mwachiaba pulled one back from the penalty spot but Albert Kangwanda restored the three goal lead in additional time to make sure the Airmen recorded a comfortable win. 

Elsewhere, FC MUZA handed newcomers Konkola Blades their first loss of the season beating them 2-0 thanks to first half goals from Ricky Ng’ambi and Given Kalusa. 

At Nkana Stadium, The record 13 time MTN Super League Champions settled for another draw as Zambia U17 National team striker Billy Daka came off the bench to level matters in additional time canceling Mathews Banda long range strike. 

At Sunset Stadium, Lambert Araina opened his goal account for the season with a 58th minute strike which was enough to hand the Bankers their first win of the season. 

Kabwe Warriors were held to a goalless draw by Leopards FC in the much anticipated Kabwe derby, Mufulira Wanderers and NAPSA Stars also settled for a goalless draw.
