The new MTN Super League season kicks-off on Friday with Zambia Police outfit Nkwazi taking on newbies Konkola Blades at Edwin Imboela stadium in Lusaka.
Kick-off will be at 15h00 and the match will be live on SuperSport and GOtv.
After surviving the chop on the last day of the season, Nkwazi will look to a positive start for a different target this season against a Blades side that finished fourth in the FAZ National Division One League.
Both sides have made a number of recruitments ahead of the opener and Friday’s match promises to be a thriller in the eyes of fans who are more than pleased to watch the league after a two-month hiatus.
With defending champions Power Dynamos and 2022/23 runner-up FC MUZA out of the country due to CAF duty, Prison Leopards and ZANACO respectively will sit out of Week one fixtures this weekend.
A potentially explosive double-header awaits at Woodlands stadium on Saturday when NAPSA Stars entertain Zesco United in a lunch-time kick-off while Nkana FC will seek to pierce Red Arrows in a 15h00 kick-off. Both matches will be live on SuperSport and GOtv.
Newcomers Mutondo Stars travel to Choma for their match against Green Eagles while Nkana stadium will be treated to the North Western derby when 2022/23 FAZ National Division One champions clash against Kansanshi Dynamos.
On Sunday, MTN Super League action returns to Shinde stadium when legendary cup fighters Mufulira Wanderers host Zambia Army side Green Buffaloes while Forest Rangers will take a short trip to Kitwe to host Kabwe Warriors at Nkana stadium.
