Mpande, Rwandan Club no deal yet

AZAM Rwanda Premiere league outfit Police FC Secretary General Regis Ruzindana has indicated that the club has not reached any deal with Zambian Coach Albert Mpande.

The Secretary General of the Rwandan police owned side affirmed knowledge of Coach Mpande being in Rwanda, but revealed the parties have neither signed a deal nor talks have been commenced.

Mpande recently bore the brunt for a poor run of results of Nkwazi FC, in the Zambian flagship football competition, which led to his La fin before he was replaced by another gaffer Chris Kaunda, on an interim basis.

Throughout the course of this week, it has been reportedly that the flamboyant coach left the country for Rwanda to seal the deal. An Image of him, prior boarding the Rwandan Air flight is clogging Social media platforms.

This publication made several attempts to reach the former Nkwazi coach via telephone – hitherto – all of them drew blanks.

Regis Ruzindana said in a telephone interview from Kibongo in the East African nation that, thus far nothing has been decided.

“Not yet, he didn’t sign anything. But he’s here and we haven’t negotiated anything. So far, decision not yet taken,” Ruzindana said.

Rwanda’s leading Daily Newspaper, The Times, on 20 April 2017 reported that the Cops head coach Innocent Seninga and his assistant Justin Bisengimana resigned from the club after a run of poor results.

And the Rwanda National Police wrote on twitter: “Police FC head coach and his deputy have tendered in their resignations citing failure to achieve the targeted goal. RNP leadership has accepted the resignations. In light with the foregoing, the team’s leadership has begun looking for replacements of the tacticians”.

Seninga was tasked to win at least one trophy last season but failed after finishing second in the Azam Rwanda Premier League and were eliminated in the quarter-finals of a domestic cup.

On the league table, Police FC are currently occupying eighth place with 22 points after 17 games played.
