The Zambia national soccer team will be against Morocco in the quarter final of the 2021 CHAN tournament.
Chipolopolo coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojević had a couple of injury concerns ahead of the match with Zechariah Chilongoshi and Bruce Musakanya reported to have picked knocks. Micho reviewed that the two were being looked at the final trainings sessions on Saturday afternoon.
Despite this, it is expected that Micho will keep Allan Chibwe in goal and the backline is expected no to change with Clement Mwape, Chilongoshi, skipper Adrian Chama and Luka Banda filling in at the back.
Vice Captain Kelvin Kapumbu will start in the holding midfield role, with Paul Katema joining him and playing the box to box role. With the threat that Morocco pose on the counter attack and deep runners, it is expected that Spencer Sautu will come in midfield to add steel. Sautu should take up the position of Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba who has been ineffective in the group games.
It is expected that Micho will stick with Emmanuel Chabula to lead the line and will be supported by Moses Phiri. Collins Sikombe will keep his position as the second striker.
Zambia have to be at their best today take their chances. With Cameroon waiting, whoever passes today’s challenge looks set to go all the way to the final.
Morocco are unbeaten in their last 10 CHAN games, while Zambia have lost just two of their 16 CHAN matches.
