Chipolopolo boss Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has made five changes to the team that suffered a shock 2-1 loss to Lesotho for this afternoons’ clash against Eswatini.
Buildcon striker Brian Mwila and the 2020/2021 Super League golden boot winner Moses ‘the Moses of our time’ Phiri start up front in place of Justin Shonga and Gamphani Lungu who drop to the bench.
Dominic Chanda takes up the place of Adrian Chama while Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba is replaced by Zachariah Chilongoshi who will play at left-back with Rodrick Kabwe going up on the wing.
The Serbian gaffer has maintained the midfield partnership of Benson Sakala and Salulani Phiri. Simon Silwimba takes up Chepeshi’s place at right-back while Augustine Mulenga again starts on the right-wing.
Zambia desperately needs a win this afternoon to keep their semifinal hopes alive. The Copper Bullets succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Lesotho in their opening game on Thursday.
The 2021 Cosafa Cup has two groups of five teams with the top two teams qualifying for the semifinals.
Zambia is the defending Champions having won their fifth title in 2019 under Aggrey Chiyangi. Zimbabwe is the record winner with six titles.

Its good to make changes, but you have to communicate nicely with the players you dropped.
Still no play maker in the midfield. This man is struggling with formats.
He didn’t carry a playmaker. That left wing was leaking crosses, both goals came from a run that started in the middle and drifted to the left side of defense. Both goals were because the midfielders let it happen and the left back watched this kid drift by. Won’t even go into Chongos inability to read the runs of the striker in the middle. The guy is a liability in that center back position. Bring back Sunzu for crying out loud and stop this experiment that fails to yield results.
And we losing today
Whats the score line ..i left nil all in first half
Eswatini up 1-0
Salulani Phiri and Kabwe are not creating anything for the strikers. We are going out of this cosafa.
But why isn’t there any updates? Isn’t this on tv ku Zed? Or do we just not care about COSAFA? Anyway, this performance is truly disappointing. Zambia has really got problems.
Zambia has lost 1-Nil. This man should pack back home. Let Mutapa finish the other two games.
I don’t know mwe. I’ve always tried to see the positive, but losing to teams like Lesotho and Eswatini is a clear indication that this coach will not get us to the World Cup. I know he is missing some critical talent like Daka, Mwepu, Cletous Chama, who are difference makers, but this…smdh. If you can’t get points off teams like Lesotho and Eswatini then you can’t qualify for anything.
I had an opportunity to watch kabaso chongo he is good. Minister of defence thats why he is the only centre back playing for a big club. His ball distribution is good and very comfortable on the ball.
He is not a centre back kabaso is the weakest link in that defence…go watch highlights of the game no defense positioning he is a right back in mazembe he plays the same position tony mash u don’t look at a defender by his ability of passing thats a midfielders job a defender is seen with his defensive capability..n plz tell ba faz fire this coach its game over before u get more embarrasement…
Tony Mash, when I think of Kabaso Chongo I recall that failed bicycle kick that lead to some team equalizing against Zambia. Also if you see the second goal for Lesotho; the guy was totally not tracking the runner. We need better.
Disastor to zambia football..
Tell micho to put this team and he will win..4-4-2 formation..
mweene
Kabaso. D.chanda. A.chama. Chiluya
Sautu. Mumba
Mulenga. Kabwe
Lungu. Shonga
Shonga is never featured at Cape Town city. How do we expect him to be our Saviour? Salulani is in the National Division. Kabwe’s team was leligated(not sure of spelling).
