Defender Kabaso Chongo is set to continue as Chipolopolo captain for the two crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria and Zimbabwe.
Kabaso who was dropped for the two games against Botswana and now recalled for the last two AFCON 2021 qualifiers will lead the Copper Bullets on their quest to return to the continental showpiece for the first time since 2015.
Kabaso accompanied Chipolopolo boss Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic to the pre-match press conference where the Serbian Wolf spoke highly of the TP Mazembe defensive kingpin.
Meanwhile in defense, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic has been trying out a back three option with Rodrick Kabwe now emerging as favorite at left-back. Micho has also been trying out a makeshift left-back option with Gamphani Lungu and Lubambo Musonda.
A back four is still the most likely approach for the Serbian gaffer but given the magnitude of these two games, anything is possible.
Algeria will be without six-star players including Manchester City midfield ace Riyadh Mahrez, Said Benrahma, Ramy Bensebaini, Ismael Bennacer, Sofiane Feghouli & Aissa Mandi will not travel to Zambia for this Thursday’s AFCON 2021 qualifier.
The match against Algeria will be played on Thursday at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka at 21:00hours.
Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s side will wrap up the qualifiers with an away fixture against Zimbabwe on Monday next week.
He highly spoke of you as his bootlicker and that of FAZ ,stop lying about kabaso shame
The guy from daily nation asked him good questions and he got annoyed not imwe bakandile
Come on! what good was that question? Journalists at times they ask nonsense questions. Micho is 100% right. Its time to be positive and optimism to our team. This young team needs support from us(.funs)
What was the question asked and to whom was the question addressed?
What is this coach thinking? Gampani Lungu and Lubambo Musonda are natural wingers and Roddick Kabwe is not a centre back!
