Chipolopolo striker Collins Mbesuma was on Friday evening on target for his club Mpumalanga Black Aces to help the to a 1 – 1 away draw against Orlando Pirates in a game played at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
Aces fell behind on 20 minuted but the burly striker pulled one back on the stroke of half time.
Mbesuma beat Ovono in the box after out-muscling Rooi Mahamutsa to level the game.
With the drae, Aces maintained their unbeaten record this season and move to the fifth spot on the Absa Premiership log while the Buccaneers go to the ninth spot.

great staf,,the older u grow,the better u become….!!guess its all Maturity,,,GooD luck KING DAVID
Mbesuma welldone,he is a complete striker
Keep the momentum going Mbesuma. We need lots of firepower in the on going AFCON n upcoming W/cup qualifiers.
Abakulu bakali, or rather abakale bakali.
Congrates King David, keep the same spirit we are entirely depending on you for the squad to qualify for 2017 Afcon.
mbesuma is the man…he is back to prove that he is the best bulldozer and good scorer.i watched the game even rooney cant match that.he is a high class scorer.
And the former orlando pirated coach wanted to send him into early retirement. Shame u fool.
Mbesuma is like shake shake the older it gets the stronger it becomes. No wonder he likes it lol…..congrats big man.
The guy is now a Staunch Christian. Born again.
Sorry Mambwe, the last time I checked, King David was Born Again; he is no-longer on shake shake. It could just be the reason why he has regained his form. Mbesuma is just class.
Mbesuma ,Kalengo,Mayuka and Jacob Mulenga are our best strikers to take Zambia to Russia World cup. Our midfielders should be reformed we need to identify the likes of Isaac Chansa who could play box to box. Sinkala and Kalaba ash
Spot on.
Most of our dependable stars are now doing well at their clubs. Rainford Kalaba, Emmanuel Mayuka, Collins Mbesuma, Chisamba Lungu, Lubambo Musonda are enjoying game time. I’m just worried about Nathan Sinkala and Stopilla Sunzu. In South Africa the battle between Kennedy Mweene and Dennis Onyango looks 50/50 so far.
He is the best striker ever , few can score in tight angles like that I think only CR 7 of Real Madrid and LM Of Barcelona can do that.
Congratulations King David Mbesuma. Shame your critics.to me memories of the 3 you gave Congo, in Congo Brazzaville the last time we went there are still fresh. Could the stars be shining to indicate a repeat of that time now that we are meeting them again?
I think the Chipolopolo bench should start talking to Jacob Mulenga right away. We need these guys at the top during the World Cup qualifiers, then up coming strikers can be fused in gradually. When one rookie is introduced give him a lot of game time and after he matures you bring in another one slowly but surely this way there won’t be a rupture at the top. Since attack is the best form of defence, we need a strong attack force which can punish the opposition any minute a chance presents itself. Against Kenya Mbesuma conjured a goal from an unbelievable angle which any inexperienced striker would never manage.
The Mid field will soon be okay as long as Sinkala and Kalaba are seeing game time at their clubs. Game time is what has seen King David Mbesuma and Kalengo start delivering with precision. Ku defence nako I personally didn’t think those 2 rookies did badly though they also needed slow and gradual infusion into serious games like that. To bring 2 of them into the team at the same time was a big gamble, Luckily Kenya were playing long balls through the middle straight to their top strikers. Arabs who use swift wingers would give those new kids on the block a hard time.
I like this comment on Kickoff.com
“After a bright start from Pirates during which they completely dominitaed possession and chances, Mpho Makola opened the scoring from the edge of the area with a beautiful shot into the bottom-right corner, showing excellent technique to apply both power and bend to beat a stationary Shi-Aib Walters.
But Aces kept plugging away and got themselves back into the game in first-half stoppage time. Edwin Gyimah gave the ball away to Aubrey Ngoma, who quickly fed Collins Mbesuma in the area. The former Buccaneer made mince-meat of Rooi Mahamutsa before firing high and into the roof of the net with his right foot from close range.”
King David z back
People think Mbesuma is an old man. This is where his former clubs Amakhosi and Pirates went wrong. The mother in Luanshya explained that he looks older than his age mates due to his buffalo body.
Buffalo body. Lol. U hv my day
@ Kasama Boy….Kickoff staff reporters are running out of superlatives to describe the Mbesuma goal! I like the following comment: “Gyimah’s sloppy pass was intercepted. Mbesuma did the rest, easily skinning Mahamutsa before blasting past Ovono at his near post.”!
Our great gift the son of Zambia did it in style in two consecutive critical games. Well done and do more. Shalom
Mbesuma is the best finisher we have at the moment. He is over 30 and I don’t see him playing 5 years from now. Younger strikers must wake up and emulate him. I remember in the late 80’s and early 90’s, we had so many goal poachers in the league. Kelvin Mutale (Nitrogen stars), Paul Chela (Mighty), Kenneth Malitoli (Nkana), Maybin M’gaiwa(K Warriors), Francis Litana (Ndola utd), Nicholas Bwalya(Roan utd), John Zyambo(Red arrows), Ackson Shimbala(Rangers), Mwenya Matete(Blades), Francis Chisenga(power). There is no striker in our league now who can be compared to those guys. They were so lethal in front of goal. The then national team coach Samuel zoom Ndhlovu had selection headache. I wonder what has gone wrong now.
just descipline need t be done mbesuma…need a helper whose not selfish like he is.he plays with others not to make a name like how chriss used to.chriss would want to smash off the ball wen ever he is not in the posiition to strike…well he saved as he played for the nation and we still appriciate his service we also need him…kalengo well done no shake shake.
I am in love with King David Again. Keep banging in the goals
Even in the goalkeeping dpt we had Efford Chabala(mighty), Richard Mwanza(warriors), Dick Shonga(nkana), Steven Mwansa(nkana), Evans Mukotoka(zanaco), Steven Zimba(rangers), James Phiri(zanaco), Peter Banda(GBFC), John Mutuntu(ndola), Howard Phiri(nkwazi), Bright Mwape(kalulushi modern stars) very good goalies all in one league. This time around when Kennedy Mweene is injured we are in trouble. He can even afford to make school boy errors but no one will threaten his position. Munyau, Banda, Titima and Nsabata are no much to him.
Mbesuma is a very dangerous striker,a clinical finisher.big up king D
Congrats Mbesuma keep on punishing them.
