Mbesuma denied 12th league goal

The Absa Premiership’s leading scorer Collins Mbesuma may want to have a word with PSL officials after he was denied his 12th goal of the season on Wednesday.

The Zambian striker played for Mpumalanga Black Aces in their 2-2 draw at Ajax Cape Town and clearly got a slight touch to a shot from Thanduyise Khuboni for AmaZayoni’s first goal.

The touch proved vital as it wrong-footed Ajax goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola, who will nonetheless be disappointed he was not able to make the save.

But referee Thando Ndzandzeka either missed the deflection or ignored it as his official report has given the goal to Khuboni.

Mbesuma will hope the moment does not prove crucial come the end of the season in the race for the Golden Boot, which carries a cash prize.

The burly forward is therefore left on 11 goals for the season, three ahead of Khama Billiat (Mamelodi Sundowns) and Prince Nxulamo (Ajax Cape Town).

  1. Zambia boys on fire presently mbesuma leading goal scorer, kalengo leading goal scorer in his new league, singuluma scoring, kalaba too scoring. Our players are presently in the best form of their careers.

And I will keep on saying it, Zambia is arguably the best football country in Africa now. Africa’s best talents are now in zambia, no team in Africa can stand the almighty chipolopolo. YES you heard that right no team.

Mbesuma, kalengo, kalaba,Singuluma, ever-green katongo and even Mayuka plus the young upcoming and developing stars we have now, we will rule Africa for the next 10 years. No team presently in Africa can boast of the same number of talents mother Zambia have. Dominating everywhere from South Africa to Congo to Isreal to Belgium to Greece to Russia to Spain even to Egypt.

2017 AFCON is for us and no team can stop us from going to 2018 WORLD CUP.
    Ivory coast can’t, Nigeria can’t , Ghana won’t dare, Cameroon can’t, Algeria can’t.

  2. just shut up naiwe please!! Best country in Africa?hell no! How many goals did our useless boys score in the just ended Chan tournament?

  3. After voting 4 the chosen one,the special one,one lungu shall govern the country very well on 11th august, and in 2018 zanbia will lift the world cup, goals fro king david and charly cool jr

  4. Collins shouldn’t be forcing goals or challenge them in the board room .It will come when it is due.In fact south Africans are jealous about Zambian players. Please forget and continue working hard like Kalengo and Singuluma are doing.

  5. It’s not like the PSL will ever reverse the decision. Mbesuma should just let it go he is well on track to win the golden boot anyway.
Truth be told Aces should actually be on top right now, after beating Chippa they have had three consecutive draws that means 3 points from a possible 9. They never should have drawn with Cosmos, the game was a picture perfect display of underrating the opponent. Celtic and Ajax are a different story but now they are going up against a resurgent Pirates.

I hope Mbesuma scores a brace against his former employers.

  6. Leon, Gabriel and positive thinking…….. I don’t understand what you guys are saying.. So you believe our boys are not gud enough because they play their football here in Africa. Nah that is wrong. They are on the same level if not better than those other Africans you see in Europe. Most are even bench warmers in Europe, but our boys here in Africa play regular football.

Look at mayuka he was in England-France, what did he do there? Bench warming, Sunzu is in France now warming the bench too. This is the same thing that happens to most of the Africans in those European league. Most of the guys from countries like Ghana, Ivory coast, Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroun are bench warmers in their club sides. You only hear about one or two that plays regular football for their country.

Aubameyang is a single unit in Gabon’s first eleven. How many other Gabonese are on the same level with him.

  7. Who takes chan tournament serious. Most of those guys won’t start for us when we have real matches. We all know that the likes of Kalaba, Mbesuma, Kalengo etc will dominate the lineup.

Temme how many of those guys in the Nigeria/Ivory coast chan team can start a game for their team in an AFCON match/qualifier or world cup qualifier. Same with other teams that participated in the tournament.

Chan is not a good critirea to judge the predigree of a team.

    • Jonstin. If you watched the 2015 AFCON and have watched some of the Zambia main team games, you can see that the team is not firing on all cylinders. Also, you are dismissing the fact that Zambia has been on the decline, while teams in Africa are starting to emerge and grow. Look at Ethiopia, Cape Verde, even Gabon, DRC all these are teams on the up and up.

CHAN is important in that it was supposed to showcase 1 or 2 new talents vying to replace the aging 2012 stars, but that never happened. Also the U20 and U23 failed to make any significant impact. This is clear indication that the next generation of Chipolopolo is just not that good. Meanwhile teams like Nigeria are winning U20 world cup, and yet you want to tell me that we are better than them. Ghana punches tickets to the world cup on a regular, and yet you want to tell me we are better than them.

I will tell you one thing and I have said this before; its not the big teams that have kept Zambia from the world cup, it is the small teams; the teams we are supposed to beat. Until Zambia starts winning the games that they are expected to win on a regular basis, you can stop counting them among the best teams in Africa.

  8. I agree with those saying that Zambia is a big team on the continent, except people like Kalusha Bwalya, are spoiling the game for us. The Charles Musonda boys, budding and brosoming, what criteria are we using to leave them out! if its not just Kalu’s jearous, or is kalu bigger than Mother Zed when it comes to football.

Charles Musonda’s boys are as much Zambians as Kalusha Bwalya or anybody else, give them chance to represent their country!. Zambia does not have superior or inferior citizens period.

  9. No that we have dual citizenship can someone start talking to the parents of musonda’s son charly and lamisha, we can not afford to lose them, the talking should be formal not ifya pama facebook as you did last time, let the FAZ handle this issue to prove themselves that they are cable of uniting football and personnel within football fratenity others we will count it as one of their failures, and that will have a reason behind for their failure and will make them out of FAZ

    • Wait, what??? FAZ contacted Charles Musonda via Facebook to ask his sons could play for Zambia? You’ve got to be kidding me! This is supposed to be a professional organization?
