The FAZ Northern Province has elected a new executive committee for the period 2025-2029 with Chikonde Mbalazi ushered in as the new chairperson.
In an election held at Sinamu Lodge in Kasama Beauty Namwawa has retained her position as women representative while David Mbulo has been elected as committee member.
For Youth Representative Donald Mwelwa emerged as the winner.
The position for vice chairperson will be held at a later stage after the Electoral Committee re-opened nominations when none of the applicants satisfied the eligibility criteria.
Mbalazi went through unopposed while Namwawa who received 35 votes beat Naomi Phiri who got 24.
Mwelwa received 31 votes against Patrick Kamona who got 28.
Mbulo got 32 votes ahead of Charity Chileshe who received 27.
FAZ has now held elections in seven provinces with Muchinga Province being the next one on Saturday (tomorrow).
