National Division One side Nchanga Rangers have confirmed the departure of defender Mathews Chabala.
Chabala has joined Super League side ZESCO United on a permanent deal according to a statement by Rangers accessed by the ZamFoot Crew.
Chabala handed in a transfer request with Rangers earlier this month.
“Nchanga Rangers Football Club seeks to inform its supporters and partners that the Club has reached an agreement with Zesco United Football Club for the permanent transfer of defender Matthews Chabala away from Nchanga stadium.
Chabala had submitted a transfer request to mutually separate with the Club after spending four years during which period he rose through the youth ranks. “
The club has wished the former Zambia U-20 National Team defender the best of luck as he moves to Ndola.
“All of us at Nchanga Rangers Football Club wish Matthews Chabala the best at his new Club, Zesco United Football Club.”
Chabala was part of the Zambia National Team side that won the 2023 COSAFA Cup in South Africa last month.
