Match Review: Power Dynamos edge Nkwazi

Power Dynamos 1-0 Nkwazi
(Tiki Chiluba 10′)

Mwenya Chipepo notably left his captain Godfrey Ngwenya out of the match day squad as he employed a 3-3-2-2 (a version of the 3-5-2) formation at Authur Davies Stadium with Brian Mwila and Kennedy Musonda leading the line .

Power Dynamos came into this game searching for a win having only gotten 1 point in their last two encounters .

Dennis Makinka employed his usual 4-4-2 formation with Jeff Banda leading the line .

Power Dynamos started the game on the front foot playing there usual passing game and it was not long until they broke the deadlock as Tiki Chiluba scored a beautiful header from an amazing setpiece my Bakodila in the tenth minute .

Power Dynamos continued to dominate proceedings in the first half and had a number of opportunities of double the lead but failed to convert .

Nkwazi had no answers for Power Dynamos as they were outplayed in the first half .This resulted in Nkwazi only having one shot on target in the first half .

The proceedings were still the same in the second half as Power Dynamos dominated possession and created some chances .A well timed Joshua Mutale through pass put Kennedy Musonda in a 1v1 situation with the Nkwazi goalkeeper but he could not stay composed after dribbling hence dragging his shot wide .

Nkwazi were still having problems in terms of having a grip on the game and the only time they came close was in the 90th minute of the game as Davy Kalandanya hit the back of the net but it was ruled out for an offside .

A well deserved victory for Power Dynamos as they dominated the game from the first minute to the last with Mwenya Chipepo’s 1-3-3-2-2 tactical variation .
