Massive progress has been made on Mabika’s passport

FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga has said Canadian based defender Aime Mabika’s passport will be ready.

The new FAZ CEO hinted that Mabika’s passport will be ready before CAF 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Ivory Coast.

“We have done massive progress (with regards to his passport) in the last five days,” the FAZ GS said on Hot FM’s Red Hot breakfast on Friday morning.

“Once the passport is ready, I will send it to you guys [Hot FM presenters) so that you can break the news,” Kamanga added

“He will be in the squad in Ndola. It will be upto to the coaches to play him or not.

“Again I would like to say thank you to the Ministry of Sports and their counter parts at Ministry of Home Affairs for fast tracking the process.

According to the ZamFoot Crew sources, there has been reservations from Ministry of Home Affairs on granting Mabika citizenship.

Mabika was born in Lusaka and spent 8 of his formative years in Zambia before his Congolese parents relocated to the USA.

The young Mabika continued with his soccer and eventually signed for David Beckham owned Inter Miami.

In the last transfer window, the 24 year old joined Toronto FC and has since made 5 appearances in the Major Soccer League for his new club.
