Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup Zesco United arrived in Johannesburg yesterday ahead of their pre-group stage return leg encounter against Kaizer chiefs.
The Ndola based outfit carry a 3 – 1 advantage into the second leg and coach George Lwandamina named a strong 18 man squad to complete the job.
Speaking to reporters before departure the, Zesco United coach George Lwandamina mentioned that Congolese defender Marcel Kalonda has been brought back into the squad after saving a one match suspension.
Another inclusion to the squad is in the goal keeping department, Dieudonne Ntibahazwa from Burundi has also been roped in as a second choice goal-keeper.
The inclusion of Kalonda is a huge boost for Zesco who looked weak in central defense after they played a make-shift partnership of midfielder Anthonky Akumu and Africa debutant Clement Mwape.
Meanwhile Kaizer Chiefs were in action on Wednesday night when they took on Amazulu in the Absa premiership, a match that ended 2-3 in favor of the Glamour boys.
Amakhosi will now shift focus and see how they can Overturn the 3-1 deficit when they welcome Zesco United at the FNB stadium on Saturday evening. in a game that kicks off at 20:00hrs.
