A second half goal from Rwandese striker Meddie Kagere propelled Simba SC to Mapinduzi Cup victory after defeating Azam FC on Thursday night.
The 35 year old grabbed his goal in the 56th minute.
Chipolopolo midfielder Rally Bwalya started for Simba.
Former Zambia striker Rodger Kola also started for Azam while former Red Arrows midfielder Paul Katema wason the bench together with Congolese forward Idriss Mbombo
Former Zanaco wide man Charles Zulu is still out injured.
Azam’s star player Kenneth Muguna failed to make three man of the match in a row as he was subdued by Rally Bwalya and co.

Attention now will shift to the Tanzanian league.
