The Mozambican players have been given a shot in their foot ahead of the game against Zambia after the country’s president dangled a whopping USD48,000 bonus if they beat Zambia.
Nyusi, who was recently elected Mozambique president, took time off his busy schedule to watch the team train on Thursday afternoon before addressing the players on the need to qualify to the 2015 AFCON finals.
“You need to make sure you work hard to qualify to the Africa Cup because it will be historic. But do not force yourself to do the impossible if things are very difficult, because you are Mozambican and we will always love you,” Nyusi said.
Mozambique coach Joao Chissano believes his team’s recent performance is good enough to cause an upset.
“Zambia will be under pressure because they have always qualified to the Africa Cup. Our fans want to see us beat Zambia and that’s the pressure we will have but we are ready for that. We have been preparing for that,” he said.
“………..because you are Mozambican and we will always love you”. I love this.
All the best chipolopolo. Even if they are given double that amount, show them that your winners always. And when it matters most the Eagle shall rise above the storm. Catch the mambas. 2-1 to Zambia.
WOOOOOOOOOOOW!! –This is SWEEET for the mambas..
Well , well, well, are the MAMBAS going to disrupt this CHANCE,
time will tell..
Unfortunately its in wet conditions. I mentioned this last week that we should hv prepared on artificial turf and wet it if we know its raining in Maputo.
But instead we were on natural grass, a repeat of Maseru trip!
RUBBISH!!!!!!

To the Mozambican coach please don’t ever remind the Chipolopolo that they are under pressure. Ever.
I do not need to remind you that, the Chipolopolo always plays better under pressure.
