Malawian midfielder Mkwate in Ndola for trials

Junior Flames midfielder Mike Mkwate is in Ndola to try his luck with Super League outfit Buildcon FC. The Nyasa Big Bullets exciting midfielder was spotted during the two-logged U23 AFCOn Qualifier between Zambia and Malawi.

Bullets Chief Adminstrator Albert Chigoga told local media that Mkwate will be assessed for at least three days. Mkwate was last night voted as the best midfielder at the Bullets Annual Players Awards.

The versatile midfielder told local media before departure that he is ready for the trials.

“This could be a stepping stone for bigger things in my career, so yes, I am excited and looking forward to impress,” Mkwate said.

Mkwate put in a Man-of-the-match performance for the junior Flames during the 1-0 loss at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

Should the deal succeed, Mkwate will follow the footsteps of fellow countrymen Dalitso Sailesi and Luka Milanzi. Sailesi joined Lusaka Dynamos but terminated his contract last year while Milanzi had spells with NAPSA Stars and Zesco United in 2012 while on loan from TP Mazembe.
