Lusaka Dynamos defender Makabaniso Magenge has made the cut for coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s 23 man squad for the June FIFA window-friendly matches against the Teranga Lions of Senegal, Benin, and Sudan.
Magenge has been impressive for Lusaka Dynamos in the heart of defense in his first season following his promotion from the junior team.
South African-based winger Augustine Mulenga will miss the three friendly matches as his team, Amazulu is involved in two crucial DSTV Premiership encounters against Swallows on Wednesday and Maritzburg United on Saturday.
Mulenga has been very influential for Ben McCarthy’s men with 5 goals and 11 assists to his name in 25 appearances in the league. It is the same case for Rodrick Kabwe who turns out for Black Leopards who face Justin Shonga and Charles Zulu’s Cape Town City on Wednesday and Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Injury has knocked our Emmanuel Banda and Lubambo Musonda who were expected to be among the players to travel to Thies via Dakar the ZamFoot Crew understands.
Midfielder Clatous Chota Chama has also been unfortunately knocked out by the untimely passing of his wife Mercy Mukuka Chama who was put to rest today in Kitwe (MHSRIP).
Other players missing from the squad include Edward Chilufya, Lameck Banda, Skipper Kabaso Chongo, and Simba SC’s Rally Bwalya.
Micho’s charges left the country this afternoon aboard Ethiopian Airlines and will make a stopover in Addis Ababa before proceeding to Thies via Dakar.
After the friendly with the Aliou Cisse coached Senegal on Saturday, Zambia will face Benin on June 8th before facing Sudan in Omdurman three days later.

Bring back Stophilla Sunzu!!!! Maybe even Kennedy Mweene. The Zambian backline has been leaking goals in recent times. Sunzu would bring so much stability to this backline. Mweene’s lack of club play still doesn’t change the fact that he has been an outstanding figure in between the posts for Zambia.
Sunzu can’t stop it unless with Hichani Himonde
Tandi mwape and Isaac samujompa they cant partner at the back . They play chipantepante . Play sululani phiri or benson sakala the have skill and ball control and they can distribute the ball. Thats why stopilar sunzu was brought back to play centre back.
Man this micho is a big idiot…how can you put local players at the expense of leaving out edward chiluffya who has been in form for his club in Sweden better than these players Amity shamende who fail to play against local teams idk whr zambia is goig.. every whr we seem to have useless leadership..
So many withdrawals from the team. We missing key players. Probably only two players in this team will make the cut when we have a full team report.
We playing friendlies with the bulk of our team out. Wish the boys well.
Why going with players that are not going to make a final squad…I thought friendlies are there to coordinate teams
Bring back Nsunzu and Mbola please. Zambian defence is very poor.
Good to see Brian Mwila in the line-up.
Defence will take another two to three years to start gelling.
This Zambia B
Clatus, my condolensces on the passing of your wife, may you find comfort in the Lord in this trialsome time
I think Brian Mwila, Benson Sakala, That Ntazana boy and Kennedy Mubanga Kampamba are our trump cards. Good to see Cyril in goal again. He is building on the consistency required of a goal minder
Can Hichani play this time? And where is he since 2012 he has never been on the books of Zambian football?
I only see three if not four players that will make the cut when the final team will be selected for qualifications.
