Chipolopolo Boys coach George Lwandamina has named three changes to the team which will face Congo at 16:30 hours and live on Superport 9.
Suspended Stopilla Sunzu, who has accumulated two yellow cards has been replaced by Buchizya Mfune in the starting line up.
This means that three Green Buffaloes defender will start this afternoon. Adrian Chama and Stephen Kabamba will continue.
The ineffective Davies Nkausu has also been replaced by TP Mazembe overlapping full back Kabaso Chongo while Jack Chirwa will be the fourth player from Buffaloes in the starting line up, coming in for Chris Katongo.
Katongo is likely to come off the bench as an impact player.
Chirwa will be the box to box midfielder, in the ‘Chansa AFCON Role’ with Nathan Sinkala operating as the pivot.
The quartet Collins Mbesuma, Rainford Kalaba, Lubambo Musonda and Winstone Kalengo will provide threat going forward.
Zambia XI v Congo

yakosa bola.
Jack Chirwa…
Mfune is good and I feel coordination may improve in defence as its all bufalloes except for kabaso but he is a good and hardworking defender and fearless .the best solution in this game is to work as a team.just an observation though ever since coming on the big stage Jack chirwa has not impressed me.However, all depends on the technical bench’s gameplan.
Zambia miss that player in picture: Kondwani, a multi-positioned player.
It’s a pity munthali is serving a ban otherwise he’s far much better than dis chap mfune
Go Zambia go!
Kanabesa with that defence twalasepwa
Congo will dismantle zambia today! Those guys has improved alot and relentless at home
Zambia afcon journey ll end today as there is no way congo ll let zambia beat them considering the fact that, they were able to blaze the storm in zambia to pick a draw!
They are very confident at home and their fans are also passionate and vociferous! The fans ll make the difference today!
I do not have a problem Mfune partnering Chama in central defence. These two guys are fine, and so is Kabaso and Kabamba at right and left back respectively. However the introduction of Jack Chirwa is a source of worry. As far as I know Chirwa is not national team materia. Dear chipolopolo fans, focus your attention on Chirwa with keen interest in today’s match and judge for yourselves. I believe Chansa should have been a better option. That Chirwa guy abutaikafye. Yaba!!!
Or better still Katongo should have started ahead of Chirwa. Chirwa does not even deserve a place on the bench. What a waste of space in the team.
With that porridge defense the little faith I had in this poorly assembled team is gone..we have just donated 3points to Congo..
Katongo should ‘ve started the game, Mbesuma is the one who should ‘ve been sacrificed for Chansa then come from the bench and replace Katongo, anyway we ‘ll wait and see .
i suppot th replacement of nkausu. Katongo shld hav started anay way.
I have never really been critical of chicken, however on the introduction of Jack Chirwa am not sure chansa was the natural replacement. Anyway all the best. I really hope Jack proves everyone wrong this afternoon
Ba gadafi i think u re rite afta sing these changes i think our jouney ends here museke
That’s more defensive approach! Katongo distributed balls better than the young ones. Nkausu wasn’t being allowed to go forward like he best does. Should have introduced more attackers as we try to contain them.

Salah revealed he feared for Egypt had he scored winner in Kaduna

AS Roma star Mohamed Salah has revealed he feared for what would happen to him and the rest of the Egypt squad had he scored a stoppage time winner against Nigeria in Kaduna.
The Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe blew off the match as Salah was heading for a winning goal in Kaduna on Friday after he had drawn his team level moments earlier.
The 25,000-capacity Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna was overcrowded with more than 40,000 fans and Salah said he could not tell how they would have reacted to a dramatic Egypt winner on the day.
“I breathed a sigh of relief after the ref blew the final whistle,” Salah, 23, told Al-Ahram Daily newspaper.
“I was afraid when I received the ball and was heading directly towards the goal to score what could have been the winner.
“Had I been able to score, I wouldn’t have been able to tell what exactly the fans’ response would be, that’s why I thanked God right after the final whistle.”
Egypt still lead Group G with seven points, two points ahead of closest rivals Nigeria and both teams clash again on Tuesday in Alexandria with only the overall group winners qualifying directly for Gabon 2017.
Kausu Suposed Not Be Replaced, but Chansa Y?
How can an ardent soccer fan question the capabilities of one JACK CHIRWA? Jack has been at the heart for the ever improving Green Buffaloes FC. He is the engine room of success at GBFC. Placing that level of talent for the big stage at the national team can never be questioned. George is a legendary coach, has chosen to place Jack Chirwa ahead of Salulani, Isaac Chansa and Spenser Sautu. Thats no mean position. So i propose some respect for Jack Chirwa. Am sure he will not disappoint either. In big games like these, Jack Chirwa has emerged bigger as a box to box midfielder. And today, its such a game to look out for an outstanding Jack Chirwa. Supported by a strong Nathan Sinkala, Jack shines very well.
What we after is a win not passes or possession. Observe Jack Chirwa in today’s match is very useful and me at first I didn’t trust him. Go Zambia Go!
We are out of the race.congo will attack with full force knowing sunzu is suspended and katongo and chansa on bench.kabaso he is a good defender but he overlaps carelessly more especially that sunzu and muntali are not playing who usually provide the whenever he moves forward to attack.chirwa will not help us in this game and chansa is the solution and katongo shud ve started ahead of mbesuma.sinkala will have alot of work to do.All best boys go go
Jack is a neat passer of the ball his physic looks somewhat awkward but he has a good passing range and makes use of the pitch very well Nathans work rate and Jacks marauding runs and inche perfect passing make for a good combination. As fans we see but let us have faith in our coaches we are playing away from home the formation 4-2-4 is the best, our stickers should not be isolated as was the case last week for longer periods of the game.
It’s not a question of under estimating Chirwa, he is not just up to scratch at national team level. We have watched the guy and he has not impressed. Don’t compare club level to this international level. I would even prefer Salulani Phiri to Chiwa.
let them play wht they knw all we need is a win go zambia go
Link?
I concur with D4 and Joe .Lets wait and see less than an hour. (Toko beta bino) . We will beat them.
OK guys the die has been cast. let us wait and see. Zambia will carry the day make my words . remind me after 90mins
Honestly ba coach y put isaac chansa on stand by?? Coz we need him big time in mid..
poor team selection. congo hav pierre lechantre. they will beat us. starting chirwa ahead of isaac and benching cris. singuluma and kola needto be recalled as we chase a best winners slot
A lot has been said of J.Chirwa already. He has failed to impress me at National level. All the games I have watched he looks like Fellaini at Man Utd. A huge frame of a guy who can’t control the ball and those passes someone is talking of kaya? At least Fellaini can score with his head.
I wish the team well. Sunzu’s absence is not of help to us. Those Congolese are tall and physical Sunzu aerial abilities will be missed. We will need to attack as a unit and defend as a unit. When Mbesuma tires the Coach should not hesitate to replace him. I feel he will score today.
Thank you @Sibs. Well said. This is now mature and wise analysis from somebody who understands the game of football.
Guys anyone with a link to the game? Please help
That is the team that will win the game believe me…go Zambia go
Chansa and chris needed to start this game
some bloggers here are useless how do you say we need singuluma and a useless kola at this hour.my analysis is jack Chirwa is more defensive than isaac Chansa ,since sunzu is not playing jack will add some value, the team has balanced now but would prefer katongo to start than lubambo.mind you Isaac has got some tired legs now.
pliz mr lwandamina pull up your sox,if that kind of Game continue zambia national team wil go no were.
