Pataaki Girls this morning edged Mapani Queens 2-0 in an Olympia derby match, week 23 of the 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Lusaka Province encounter played at Olympia Park Secondary School Grounds which is actually the home ground for both teams.
A first-half brace from Pauline Zulu was enough for the Stubborn Girls to complete a double over Mapani who lost with the same scoreline in the reverse fixture.
Zulu was again on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture and she has done the same today to ensure Pataaki Football Club closes the gap on log leaders Green Eagles who were held to a shocking 1-1 draw by Chibolya Sports Academy Girls.
Chibolya scored through Hellen Mukuka while Trynes Changwe was on the scoresheet for the unbeaten Eagles as the scores ended 1-1.
At Chinika Secondary School Grounds, Ellesy Chilandula scored a late goal as Luyando Foundation Girls edged Progress Sports Club 1-0 while NAPSA Queens suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss at the hands of Twikatane Queens who scored the only goal of the match through Precious Malama as she converted from the penalty spot.
Elsewhere at Sunset Stadium, a brace from Provincial Women’s League top goal scorer Ruth Ngoma was enough as Lusaka Queens fought hard to grab a maximum of three points against a resolute ZANACO Ladies side who scored through Deborah Nyamulongo as the match ended 2-1 in favor of the capital City, Queens.
Misisi Queens United completed a double victory this season over Garden Youth as Cindy Banda, Deborah Kaimbo and Christine Mwenya scored all the important goals for Misisi who won the match via a 3-nil scoreline.
In Kafue, The Crocs Queens were too good for the Lusaka Red Lions side as they picked up maximum points with a comfortable 2-nil scoreline courtesy of goals from Ireen Mweene and Fridah Madubiko for the Coach Zizwachi Zifa Mseteka drilled lasses.
The match between King Sports Academy Girls and Football Chance Foundation Girls was postponed due to Examination Classes for some players from Football Chance.
