Zambia Women’s League second tier side, Luyando Foundation Girls had a special Wednesday as they were handed a special training session in Makeni.
The Women’s League National Division side were drilled by 2012 AFCON winner Evans Kangwa on Wednesday at the newly constructed Shamuel Academy Football Arena in Makeni.
“A special Wednesday for our girls who had a chance to be trained by Zambian International and Shamuel Academy own Evans Kangwa from Shamuel Academy’s new facility in Makeni.
A very nice training session we had yesterday with the legendary Evans Kangwa. Training session was conducted by the coach of the day Evans Kangwa. The training session mainly focused on adapting to pressure and high pressing games,” the club posted on their official Facebook page.
Former Zambia U-17 Women’s National team defender cum midfielder Tefeoga Munene was picked as the best player in training and was awarded with a new boot by the Arsenal Tula striker.
Defender Precious Kalowa won the challenge of the day and walked away with a new match ball.
“At the end of the training Zambian International Evans Kangwa encouraged the girls to keep working hard as the future is bright.”
Luyando Foundation Girls nicknamed The People’s favorite team of choice have produced a number of important players in the Women’s Football arena.
Most notably, Copper Queens Midfielder Evarine Susan Katongo. Ochumba Oseke Lubanji, Luty Kamanga, Diana Banda, Mary Mambwe, Square Maiwase, Ruth Ndala among others have all passed through the hands of coach Bernard Mwape Chisenga.
In the Zambia U-17 Women’s National team side that settled for silver at the 2022 COSAFA Women’s Championship, Luyando Foundation contributed, Margaret Gondwe, a defender who played all the games and had a brilliant shift.
