New promoted Zambia Super League side, NAPSA Stars were on Friday evening treated to a cocktail dinner by their sponsors, National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) at Hilton Garden Inn Hotel.
The Cocktail Dinner event was to congratulate the team for winning the ABSA Cup and for qualifying back to the MTN Super League.
The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Honorable Brenda TambaTamba was the guest of honor.
At the event, the club also presented awards to some outstanding performers during the 2021/2022 season.
Skipper Luka Banda was voted the best player following his stellar season for the Pensioners that saw him also earn a call up back to the National team.
Goalkeeper Rodwell Mukwanya was the big winner as he walked away with two accolades, best upcoming player and DG’s award.
Mukwanya is not intimidated by playing the top league as he believes the Super League is just a name and he will just work hard as he has been doing.
“The Super League is just a name, the same I played in the Eden University National Division One, I will just work hard so that I can maintain my first choice spot. Being first choice is not easy,” Mukwanya said.
Former National Assembly forward Musonda Kapembwa walked way with the top goalscorer award for his seven goals this season.
Kenyan defender David Owino was named as the most disciplined player while Gift Zulu walked away with the most consistent player accolade.
