Zambia Under-17 Women National Team head coach Kaluba Kangwa has named his final 18-member squad for the Cosafa Region V Maseru Games to be staged in Lesotho.
Green Buffaloes mesmerizing midfield sensation Lubasi Pumulo leads the squad that will be hunting for glory at the tournament that will also act as the COSAFA U-17 Women’s Championship.
FAZ Lusaka Provincial Women’s League side Pataaki trio of strikers Jessy Zulu and Blessings Zulu and midfielder Josephine Phiri have made the squad and are expected to play a key role for the Kaluba Kangwa tutored side.
Other notable players include the 2020 COSAFA U-17 Women’s Championship golden glove winner Chitete Musanka, Luyando Foundation Girls duo of Shanice Kolala and Tefeoga Munene, and Green Buffaloes forward Lucy Kajiya.
The team is expected to leave for Maseru today with athletes from other disciplines. Zambia opens its account with a tie against Botswana on Thursday at 10:00 hours at Setsoto Stadium with the second match against Namibia on Saturday.
The final group match is against Zimbabwe on Monday with games being played on a round robin basis.
