Local Chipolopolo aim to redeem themselves against Morocco

Local Chipolopolo coach Numba has expressed happiness with the response from his players after their humiliating loss to Kuwait.

Numba is confident the team will do well in the second international friendly match when they face Morocco on Monday.

The ZESCO United coach says he noticed some lapses in defense during the game against Kuwait which they are now working on.

“I think so far so good. I think the response has been good from the boys. From what we have seen, the boys are geared for the game against Morocco. I think we will try our best to push them so that they also give us their best,” Numba said.

“We are familiar with how Morocco plays, we have insight if how they play and we plan accordingly so that we can get a result that’s acceptable to everyone back home.”

“Of course we noticed some lapses especially in defense, I think that’s the area that we have to concentrate on so that we don’t concede silly goals like we did in the first game,” he aded.

Meanwhile midfielder Fredrick Mulambia says the team want to do better and put in more effort against Morocco.

“Training went well in Egypt, yes we lost the game and it was painful to lose 3-0 but we hope to do better and put more effort against Morocco,” he said.

“The game coming up, we will work hard to score goals and keep a clean sheet.”

“These games are very important they help us to defend our COSAFA Cup title. They will help us gauge ourselves. The fans should believe in us, we can deliver despite the loss we suffered to Kuwait,” he added.

The Chipolopolo v Morocco match will take place on Monday at the Complexe Sportif at 21h00 Central African Time.

The COSAFA bound team suffered a 3-0 loss to Kuwait on Monday in the first of their two international friendly matches on their North African tour.

The COSAFA Cup will be hosted in the South African coastal city of Durban from July 5-16.

Zambia will kick off their title defence against Malawi on 6th July at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
