Stiff competition is expected in FAZ Division One Zone Four when the 2019 season commences with the livingstone clubs making final touches, recruiting and shaping up.
The Landlords Livingstone Pirates who gave Mufulira Wanderers a hard time in their 2-1 of their first official pre-season friendly match two weeks ago – are one of the sides to watch out for following their changes on the technical bench, bringing in Bupe Chewe from town rivals Maramba Stars as the new assistant coach.
Last season’s second runners-up to FC Muza, Zesco Victoria Falls are hoping for a better year this time as Coach Enoch Sakala will start the season from the onset despite losing some key players from his squad Goalkeeper Mark Nkoma, Skipper Bwalya Chiti, Ignitious Muleya, Emmason Kabwe and Pumulo Sitwala.
Last season’s debutants, Maramba Stars have been doing things in undertones. They have unfortunately lost a number of players with the Former assistant coach Joseph Mwale taking over the head coaching mantle after the departure of Bupe Chewe. They are not pushovers as they still dream of becoming the first team of bringing Premiership football to the tourist Capital.
Newcomers in the Division One Zone Four League Blue Arrows have also been busy. They were the first to conduct trials and getting some players in readiness for the new season.
Some experienced players are training with Arrows, under the tutelage of Kenny Simango are Kekelani Banda, Joseph Phiri goalkeeper Kapambwe Chitambala and Mathews Mulao – formerly in the books of Livingstone pirates.
Livingstone Youth on the other side are setting up a strong foundation by having players who understand each other while they are still searching for a permanent coach. They have a good squad of young players and few experienced ones that have what it takes to challenge for promotion.
