Kabwe Warriors will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome ZESCO United at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium on Saturday.
The Magnificent People’s team have suffered back to back defeats and they have only three wins in their last 15 games.
ZESCO on the other hand were held to a 1-1 draw in midweek by Mazabuka based FC MUZA just days after a comprehensive 3-1 win over Kansanshi Dynamos.
Kabwe Warriors coach George Lwandamina will be meeting his former side.
The visitors on the other hand will be without their interim head coach Alfred Lupiya who is on national duty and in his absence Winston Kalengo will take charge of the team.
It will be an interesting reunion of teacher vs students as Kalengo and Jacob Banda both played a good number of seasons under the Mufulira Wanderers legend.
MWENYA CHIBWE TO START IN GOAL
Former Baroka FC goalkeeper Cyril Mwenya Chibwe is expected to start between the sticks for Zega Mambo with Gregory Sanjase serving suspension while Ian Otieno is away without official leave (awol).
The former South African based goalkeeper has not had game time since joining the nine time Champions but will now have a chance to state his case.
ZESCO have dominated this fixture winning 16 of the last 29 meetings and only losing four times.
Lwandamina will bank on the exploits of Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba and Jimmy Ndhlovu to get the goals with the creativity and work rate of Clement ‘Jakuzi’ Mulenga.
ZESCO United are expected to welcome back Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba who missed the last two games due to suspension but will again be without youngsters Chipyoka Songa and Enock Sakala Jnr who are out with the Zambia U-23 National team.
The Ndola based outfit will be hoping for Kenyan striker Vincent Oburu to pass a late fitness test but still have a lot of Arsenal with Spencer Sautu, Chitiya Mususu, John Ching’andu, and Keziron Kizito all available.
Kick off at the Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium is set for 15:00hrs.
